Move aside red! How to rock green makeup this holiday

By  |

Along with the holidays typically comes bold shades of red on our lips, cheeks and nails. But what if we wanted to switch it up a little? Green is the other popular color during the winter months, but it can sometimes be intimidating to put such a unique and bold color on your face willingly. There are ways to subtly add some green to your look if you’re not too keen on it just yet, but there are also ways to go all out. Green makeup really can work!

Bold lips and eyes

Let’s start with bold, because why not?¬†This look is perfect for a fun holiday party. Make sure to use a good primer so the color stands out as much as possible, and sweep it across your lids and into your crease. As for the lips, the darker the better. Deep emerald greens, while very bold, will complement a lot of different skin tones and wow everyone who sees you.

If green intimidates you, this look is perfect to experiment a bit with. This almost minty green shade works for the holidays because it’s sort of in between olive and emerald.

Bold lips

Bold lips are always gorgeous, no matter the color. This look features minimal eye makeup with a pop of metallic green lipstick, and we are loving it. Keep the rest of your makeup extremely neutral and light so you don’t look like a clown this holiday season.

For those a bit more daring when it comes to eyeshadow, this look is for you. The blue/green color is whimsical and the star of the show, making almost every eye color pop.

Olive green eye

This olive green color will be especially flattering on those brown eyed girls, and easier to wear than other bold greens. It just makes them pop. This look almost has a halo eye effect, which will make your eyes look more rounded and give them a pop of light. Simply stunning, am I right?
